Location
Dolwyddelan is in the Snowdonia National Park in the very attractive Lledr Valley on the A470, 5 miles to the south-west of Betws-y-Coed. It is a quiet but friendly village at an elevation of about 140m above sea level. It is an excellent centre for exploring Snowdonia by foot, car and even by rail. There is also horse riding and fishing in the locality and many places of interest to visit. The sandy beaches and resorts of the N and W coasts are 40 minutes away by car. The village has a shop, post office, British Rail station and pub and small hotel (restaurant and bar meals). There are many other places to eat in Betws-y-Coed. The cottage is located at the end of a row in a quiet road, near the edge of the village.

Cottage Description. . . .Click here for larger pictures of cottage. . . . Outside . . . . Inside
The building is an attractive traditional stone Welsh cottage about 150 years old, and has some low doorways (5ft 7ins). It is cosy and warm with central heating by storage heaters with several additional electric heaters for instant extra heat if necessary.
It is comfortably furnished with a simple cottage style decor, retaining many of the original features.

Downstairs there is a living room with a Teletext TV, DVD player & video, and separate dining room. The small but convenient fitted kitchen, overlooking the back garden, has the original slate floor and is well equipped with a double-oven cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with double bed, one with a single bed and a 27" wide bunk bed and one with a single bed, sleeping up to 5 in all. The bathroom has a washbasin, instant electric shower unit and WC. Hot water for the washbasin and kitchen is heated by an immersion heater.

At the front of the cottage is a small walled front garden. Outside the back door is a mountain stream. A footbridge leads to the charming informal back garden with views of Dolwyddelan Castle, Snowdon and Moel Siabod.
